Expanded Edition Progress Update

Greetings Librarians!

Progress on the Expanded Edition has been going well! All the writing has been done and is currently being proofread, and most of the artwork is done with just three main pieces left to do. The next steps will be to make accessible versions of the game, add any last details, another check of the layout and readability, then it should be ready to publish! Unfortunately I cannot give a rough date as to when this will be, as I have been side-tracked by a couple of other projects (including the Cosy Whimsical Fantasy Jam which I am currently hosting), but I hope it won't be too much longer!

In the last post about the Expanded Edition I was asked to share a little more about my process behind making this game, which, in honesty, I feel is rather simple: I write in Obsidian, draw in Procreate and Affinity Photo 2, then put it all together in Affinity Publisher 2. Writing in Obsidian helps me to focus on the content, before being distracted by making it all look pretty. For this Expanded Edition I kept an eye on the list of prompts from the original game which I could rewrite, expand, or lean on to inspire the new prompts. By focusing on writing first, I also get a feel for the location which can then feed my idea for the accompanying drawing. This may not always go to plan, or match with my initial idea, but it helps nonetheless.

Hopefully this has shed some light on what has been happening behind the scene, but do let me know if you have any further questions in the comments below! This entire process has never truly been a solitary one, as I have often relied upon the advice, feedback, and support of friends and my partner to keep me going and push through any blocks. I am incredibly grateful for them all, and for you too, for the encouragement and excitement for this new edition - thank you!

Until next time! - AP.
